
Claudio Punzo, Ph.D., is an associate professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences and principal investigator in the Horae Gene Therapy Center at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Claudio and the members of his lab are focused on understanding photoreceptor loss in genetic inherited diseases as well as in age-related diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, to develop new therapeutic paradigms to delay blindness in affected individuals.
He earned his undergraduate degree and his doctorate in cell biology from the University of Basel.
